August 2010 Update

Well it has been way to long since I have put anything up on this
page but it is time I have finely recovered from life’s little
setbacks. It has been a long hard battle but thanks to my family
and friends who have stood beside me through it all I am now the
person I have always hoped I would be. Thanks to Jill for making
me keep my hands up and keep fighting even when I wanted to throw
in the towel. With the two of us standing side by side there is no
foe we cannot defeat or goal we cannot acquire. Love U Lady!!!

The grand kids and I have been running our karts. Tina has
thousands of laps and is as smooth on the track as I have always
dreamt of being. If someday she decides to race she will win a lot
of races!
Anthony has just started and he is going to be fast too! He has no
fear and does not like when Tina passes him. I think I will be
busy fixing things for him. He is going to use up some body work
(don`t know where he got that from)!

When I started racing I was given my first ride by a father son
team and their deal was some day that they wanted me to help
someone else live their dream in racing. I have found that person.
Her name is Jennifer… She’s 17 and she can drive a car faster than
I have ever done. She has a natural ability I have only seen a
few times in my life my hopes are to help her make it to the top
and live her dream.

My hopes are also to help Nate Smith (my good friends Paul’s son)
go as far as he would like to in racing. He is also one of few I
have seen with the natural ability to drive a car and has always
impressed me with his abilities on and off the track. The first
time I saw him drive his late model I stood up to watch. I cannot
remember anyone else in my life doing that.
I got myself a new toy and as I always said when I get older I
will go back to my roots… road racing. I picked up a eastern
modified and my plan is to do some racing on the west coast and
see if I can get it up to speed to go run with the Whelan Mods at
Watkins Glen, and a couple other road race courses in the future.
I will do my best to keep you all updated from now on at least
once a month!!!
